Government Document Translation — Diploma / Degree Certificate for clients in Central Embassy. From Request a quote 1–2 business days.

Diploma / Degree Certificate by NPT Notary Public Thailand — Lawyers Council–licensed attorneys and Ministry of Justice–attested translators handling every step for engaged parties in Central Consular post. Local context for Central Consulate: postcode 10330 · near Phloen Chit BTS station. Covering Thai government document language rendering, translate house registration, translate birth certificate Thailand with Notarial Services Attorney certification and MFA apostille in one engagement. Engaged parties in Central Embassy get messenger pickup and return, a dedicated case advisor, and 24/7 status tracking — no office visit required.

Complete guide: Government Document Translation

Topic 01 · Single-status / never-married affidavits for overseas marriage

Probate and inheritance across jurisdictions involves courts of both the deceased's domicile and the asset location. We coordinate between Thai and overseas counsel, producing authenticated documents and language conversions end-to-end. Authentication chains can fail at any link. We design our workflow so each link is verified before the next one starts: language rendering is QA'd before lawyer certification, lawyer certification is QA'd before MFA submission, MFA stamp is photographed before consular post submission. A single corrupted link is caught and fixed without restarting the chain.

Topic 02 · Embassy and consular re-legalization

Our workflow: (1) free consultation via LINE / phone to confirm scope, (2) quote and deadline, (3) document intake, (4) production by licensed staff, (5) two-pass QA, (6) delivery and tax invoice. Engaged parties track status 24/7 via reference number. We publish our internal QA stats quarterly to case holders on retainer: pass rate at first submission, average turnaround, NPS, and the top three rejection causes we are working to eliminate. Transparency about failure modes is the only way to actually reduce them, and our retainer renewal rate over 96% suggests engaged partys agree.

Topic 03 · Standard turnaround vs rush service

Coverage: all 77 provinces, including 50 districts of Greater Bangkok. Free pickup within a 5 km radius of our office. EMS-registered, Kerry Flash, or Grab/Lalamove for upcountry engaged parties (1–2 extra business days). If you are reading this guide because you were told 'just bring the documents and we'll figure it out', please call us first instead. The single most expensive mistake in this entire industry is starting work on the wrong certification path; a thirty-minute call costs nothing and routinely saves engaged parties five-figure sums in repeat fees.

Topic 04 · Country-specific notes

Name-match verification is critical for visa-bound documents. We cross-check passport, national ID, household registration, and source spelling, and advise on Affidavit of One and the Same Person where needed. Beyond the document itself we provide context: which authority will receive it, what they will check, what they have rejected in the last ninety days, and what the recovery path looks like if anything goes wrong. That context is included in every engagement, not sold separately, because we believe informed engaged parties make better filings.

Topic 05 · Digital file storage under ISO/IEC 27001 information-security standard

Corporate customers receive net-30 credit, wholesale pricing, a dedicated Account Manager, an online ticketing portal, and monthly KPI reports — fully invoiced and withholding-tax compliant. Foreign service users regularly ask whether they need a Thai national co-signer for any of these workflows. The answer is almost always no — Thai law generally allows foreign principals to act through Thai-licensed counsel via Power of Attorney, and we issue the POA template that satisfies every authority we work with.

Topic 06 · Workflow from intake to delivery

For US / Canadian credential evaluation through WES, IQAS (Alberta), or ICAS (BC, MB) we prepare a standard three-piece set: original transcript + attested diploma copy + translator-officially recognized official rendering — couriered directly to the evaluation body. Sample QA failures we catch before submission: passport name spelt with diacritics the destination cannot ingest, Thai title 'Mr' translated as 'นาย' instead of 'นาย' (different code points), MFA stamp missing the ink reference number, consular post fee receipt photographed at an angle that obscures the date — all small, all fatal at the counter.

Topic 07 · Service coverage and document pickup options

Every completed file ships with one controlled digital copy and one paper copy held in a fireproof safe for a minimum 7 years. If the engaged party loses originals abroad, we courier a Officially recognized True Copy within 24 hours — no need to restart the workflow. In practice this is the step where most rejections happen, so we run a paired QA — one attorney drafts, a second attorney verifies signature blocks, page numbering, and date formatting against the destination authority's most recent template. We log every QA pass with timestamp and reviewer ID so any future audit can be answered in minutes, not weeks.

Topic 08 · Destination Matrix: per-country document requirement analysis

Certificate authentication is recognised among 126 Hague Convention 1961 member states. For non-members (China, Saudi, Egypt, parts of UAE), the apostille chain is required: Notary → MFA Thailand → Destination Consulate — we operate both pipelines daily. If your matter touches a Thai court, immigration tribunal, or arbitration panel, the official rendering must come from a Ministry of Justice–listed translator and be signed by a licensed Thai attorney. We cover both ends in-house, which avoids the most common rejection cause: a translator's name not appearing on the MoJ register the court checks.

Topic 09 · Citizenship application and renunciation document handling

Our file storage system is audited annually against ISO/IEC 27001. All data is AES-256 encrypted at rest and in transit, with full access logging and audit trail — corporate customers can request a Compliance Report on demand. Service-level agreements are written, not verbal. Our standard SLA covers acknowledgement within two working hours, quote within one business day, intake within two enterprise days of approval, and delivery within the published turnaround. Missed SLAs trigger automatic 10% credit; we have paid out four times in the last twenty-four months.

Topic 10 · Pre-booked appointments at embassies and VFS/TLS/BLS centres

When name spelling differs across documents (old vs new passport, Tabian Baan vs ID card), we draft an Affidavit of One and the Same Person, notarise it, run it through MFA — resolves downstream rejection instantly. We do not white-label other firms' work nor outsource to freelancers. Every translator, every attorney, every messenger on our staff is on payroll, vetted on intake, and accountable to the same QA system. That is more expensive to operate than the marketplace model and it is also the reason our published pass rate is achievable.

Topic 11 · Asset documentation for outbound FDI and treasury filings

The intake team uses service-specific checklists refreshed quarterly against the latest destination-authority requirements, keeping rework rates below 0.5%. For complex chains — certified translation + lawyer certification + MFA + destination consular post + courier — we prefer one engagement, one project manager, one invoice. Splitting the chain across vendors saves nothing and routinely causes typo cascades when a translator's spelling does not match the diplomatic mission's name on file.

Topic 12 · Payment and tax invoice

We staff by language pair: Chinese–Thai, Japanese–Thai, Korean–Thai, Arabic–Thai, and Romance languages, with a Senior Editor reviewing every file before delivery. On urgency: roughly 18% of our matters are filed under same-day rush. We accept rush jobs only when our scheduling shows we can guarantee the deadline; if we cannot, we say so up front rather than miss SLA. That discipline is why our published turnaround numbers match real-world experience.

Topic 13 · Affidavit of Translation Accuracy for foreign court submission

Each file is scored on four risk axes before intake: content complexity, urgency, destination-authority complexity, and terminology risk — so the right team and timeline can be assigned. If your matter involves a deadline outside our control — visa appointment, travel date, court hearing — tell us at intake. We can usually back-plan the entire chain to land documents twenty-four hours before the deadline and give you a buffer for the inevitable last-minute diplomatic mission quirks.

Topic 14 · Sample cases and lessons learned

We coordinate directly with the Department of Consular Affairs (Chaeng Wattana), every diplomatic mission and consulate in Bangkok, the Ministry of Justice, Immigration Bureau, Social Security Office, and Ministry of Labour. Customers do not travel themselves. Our office is walking distance from the MFA Consular Affairs counter at Chaeng Wattana, which means rush submissions skip courier transit entirely. For destination embassies in central Bangkok we keep messenger relationships that beat published consular post queue times by 40-60% on average.

Topic 15 · Cross-border corporate document stack — Apostille + Embassy combo

Service fees follow the quote; standard turnaround is 1–3 business days. Rush 2–4 hour service adds 50–100%. Pricing covers QA, EMS courier nationwide, and original document return. Foreign applicants should know we operate fully in English; every customer-facing email, invoice, status update, and certificate carries an English version, and our case advisors handle WhatsApp, LINE, WeChat, KakaoTalk, and email in the customer's preferred channel. We answer within two corporate hours during Bangkok working time.

Topic 16 · Cross-border Power of Attorney drafting and authentication

Post-delivery we follow up: applicants confirm filing outcome within 30 days. If the destination requests more documents, we cover the additional work within the original quote and log learnings into our knowledge base. Our language conversion team works in language pairs, not single languages. A Korean–Thai matter is staffed by a Korean native who reads Thai source plus a Thai senior editor who reads Korean output, with a third-party Korean lawyer on call for legal terminology. That triple coverage eliminates the lost-in-translated copy cases that single-translator shops cannot detect.

Topic 17 · Notes for corporate and institutional clients

Typical cases: marriage to a foreign national, family reunification visas, cross-border asset transfer, foreign company registration in Thailand, USCIS/UKVI/Home Affairs filings, and academic credential certification for overseas employment. We document everything for repeat business. If you used us in 2024 for a marriage registration and come back in 2026 to certificate authentication the same Kor Ror 3 for a spousal visa, we already have your name spelling, address rendering, signature block, and prior counsel on file — onboarding takes one phone call, not a week.

Topic 18 · Education credentials for WES / IQAS / ICAS evaluation pipelines

Our team includes Notarial Services Attorneys registered with the Lawyers Council, Ministry of Justice–listed translators, NAATI Attested translators, and dedicated diplomatic mission liaison officers. Our liability insurance covers professional indemnity up to Request a quoteillion per matter, and we are happy to share the policy schedule with corporate service users who require it for their vendor onboarding. The cover is real, the underwriter is a tier-1 Thai insurer, and we have never needed to claim against it.

Topic 19 · Scholarship and research grant documentation packages

Digital Nomad Visas (Portugal, Spain, Italy, Estonia) and Remote Work Visas (Dubai, Barbados, Bermuda) require Proof of Income, Health Insurance, Background Check, and Education Certificate — all Apostilled. We deliver the full stack. We routinely handle files for case holders who never set foot in Thailand. The Remote POA workflow — notary in your country, Authentication, courier to us — lets us act on your behalf for the entire Thai-side chain. Most overseas matters resolve in three to five business days from receipt of the POA.

Topic 20 · Two-column side-by-side translation format for court submission

Frequent add-ons: MFA apostille, destination consulate authentication, NAATI translated copy for Australia, MoJ certified translation for Thai courts, Notary Public for overseas use, and visa filing when the full document set is required. Many destinations now require document attestation in addition to language rendering since Thailand joined the Hague Convention on 28 February 2027. We handle the entire post-Hague workflow, including the cases where an consular post still asks for the legacy MFA + embassy chain because their own implementation has not caught up.

Key atomic facts — Diploma / Degree Certificate

We hold standing slots at 35 major embassies in Bangkok, cutting consular post authentication queue time from 5–10 business days down to 2–3 commercial days. Thailand joined the Hague Certificate authentication Convention on 28 February 2027, making Hague-stamp the standard authentication for documents bound to 130 Contracting Parties. Police clearance certificates from the Royal Thai Police Criminal Records Division typically take 3–5 business days, with Certificate authentication adding 2 more corporate days for international use. We support 30+ languages including Chinese (Simplified/Traditional), Japanese, Korean, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Arabic, Russian, Vietnamese, Burmese, Lao, Khmer, Tagalog, and Indonesian. Every engagement closes with a one-page brief documenting actions taken, dates cleared, destination-authority response, and recovery instructions if further requests arise. Our team includes Lawyers Council–registered Notarial Services Attorneys, Ministry of Justice–listed translators, NAATI-Authenticated translators, and dedicated consulate-liaison officers. MFA Consular Affairs (Chaeng Wattana) processes Apostilles in 2 business days standard, 1 corporate day rush, with a flat THB 200 government fee per page. Marriage to a foreign national in Thailand requires an Affidavit of Single Status from the foreign spouse's embassy, MFA-legalized translated copy, then registration at any district office. Our office sits within walking distance of the MFA Consular Affairs counter at Chaeng Wattana, eliminating courier transit time for rush submissions. Thailand's DTV (Destination Thailand Visa) is a 5-year multiple-entry visa launched in July 2024, granting 180-day stays per entry extendable by another 180 days. Same-day rush service is available for filings that do not require MFA consular endorsement, with bookings confirmed before 11:00 Bangkok time and a 100% rush surcharge. Ministry of Justice–listed translators are the only translators whose work Thai courts will accept without an additional certification step. Our published first-pass acceptance rate is 99.5%, measured across all destination authorities and refreshed quarterly from internal QA data. Solution-Level Agreement: 2-hour acknowledgement, 1-business-day quote, 2-commercial-day intake, on-time delivery — with automatic 10% credit on missed SLA.

Additional frequently asked questions

Are original documents required?
High-quality scans are sufficient for translation, but some certification steps require the original or a copy certified by the issuing authority, so originals should be kept available.
Does a translation expire?
A translation has no expiry, but if the source document is reissued or amended the translation must be redone to match the version actually submitted; recipients cross-check document numbers and issue dates.
How do legal and medical translations differ?
Specialist texts must follow professional terminology and reproduce institution names exactly as issued. A glossary is applied across the whole document set so the recipient does not encounter inconsistent terms.
Can a translation be revised later?
Yes. If the recipient asks for different formatting or wording, a revised certified version can be issued against the same source document. Keep the recipient's written requirement as supporting evidence.
What kind of translation do authorities accept?
Most authorities require a translation accompanied by a certification statement identifying the translator and the date. For overseas use, the translation itself usually has to be certified by the Department of Consular Affairs or another body named by the destination.
What is the correct certification order?
The common chain is translate, certify the translation, certify at the Department of Consular Affairs, then Apostille or destination-embassy legalisation. The exact order depends on the recipient's rules and should be confirmed before work starts.

How this connects to the next step

A translation only carries weight once certified in the form the receiving body expects; some authorities require a sworn translator registered with that jurisdiction, and files heading abroad should continue straight into MFA consular legalization in the same run.

In depth: the real requirements and why documents get rejectedCertified translation

Written from the competent authority's published rules, not marketing copy.

"Certified translation" means different things in different jurisdictions. In some it is a translation the translator signs as accurate; in others the translator must be registered with a court or public authority; in others still the translator's signature must itself be certified. Choosing the wrong category causes rejection even when every word is correct.

Conditions you actually have to clear

  • Where the destination requires a registered translator, the registration number or qualification evidence belongs in the certification statement.
  • Any change to the original after translation — even one additional stamp — requires the translation to be updated to match.
  • Personal names in the translation must match the passport exactly, rather than following a common phonetic rendering.

Common causes of rejection

  • Omitting illegible text instead of marking it as illegible, as official-document practice requires.
  • Delivering the translation as a standalone file with no link to the source document.

Where one document set will be used in several countries, plan the translations and the certification chains together from the start to avoid repeating the work.

Practitioner guidanceEmbassy legalisation

Competent authority: The destination country's embassy or consulate

Practitioner guidance

  • Commercial documents usually need Board of Trade certification before the embassy stage.
  • Keep copies at every stage; originals stay with the authorities while in process.
  • Confirm which translation language and which translators the embassy accepts.
  • If the destination is a Hague party, consider the shorter Apostille route.
  • The standard order is translation → MFA legalisation → destination embassy endorsement; it cannot be reordered.

Pitfalls — why documents get rejected

  • Applying one embassy's requirements to another.
  • Commercial documents missing required chamber-of-commerce certification.
  • Preparing fewer copies than the embassy requires.
  • No prior appointment at an appointment-only mission.
  • Sending documents abroad without trackable delivery.

In-depth questions and answersEmbassy legalisation

Answers follow the competent authority's published requirements, not marketing copy.

Which situation in Embassy legalisation wastes the most time unnecessarily?

Observed cause: Preparing fewer copies than the embassy requires. If you are unsure whether your case is affected, confirm with The destination country's embassy or consulate, or ask our staff by phone, LINE or email before filing. This is general guidance; requirements and processing times change — verify with the competent authority before filing.

What deserves extra care when Embassy legalisation is filed with an overseas authority?

Observed cause: No prior appointment at an appointment-only mission. If you are unsure whether your case is affected, confirm with The destination country's embassy or consulate, or ask our staff by phone, LINE or email before filing. This is general guidance; requirements and processing times change — verify with the competent authority before filing.

Which Embassy legalisation error is hardest to correct afterwards?

Observed cause: Sending documents abroad without trackable delivery. If you are unsure whether your case is affected, confirm with The destination country's embassy or consulate, or ask our staff by phone, LINE or email before filing. This is general guidance; requirements and processing times change — verify with the competent authority before filing.

Which Embassy legalisation trap do applicants usually notice too late?

Observed cause: Ignoring destination-country public holidays when planning. If you are unsure whether your case is affected, confirm with The destination country's embassy or consulate, or ask our staff by phone, LINE or email before filing. This is general guidance; requirements and processing times change — verify with the competent authority before filing.

Which authority is competent for Embassy legalisation?

The destination country's embassy or consulate is the principal competent authority for Embassy legalisation. A certification issued outside the route the receiving office requires may be refused even when the content itself is correct. This is general guidance; requirements and processing times change — verify with the competent authority before filing.

Where can the current requirements for Embassy legalisation be verified?

Check the notices published by The destination country's embassy or consulate. The official sources used on this page are https://consular.mfa.go.th/th/publicservice/legalization · https://www.hcch.net/en/instruments/conventions/status-table/?cid=41. Requirements are revised from time to time, so read the latest version before every filing. This is general guidance; requirements and processing times change — verify with the competent authority before filing.

What if our Embassy legalisation case has unusual conditions?

For edge cases — mismatched names across documents, foreign-issued records, or a tight deadline — have the set reviewed first, then reconfirm the conditions with The destination country's embassy or consulate. Ask our staff by phone, LINE or email for scope and timing (we do not publish fees on the page because they depend on the document type and destination). This is general guidance; requirements and processing times change — verify with the competent authority before filing.

How long does Embassy legalisation take?

Turnaround is not fixed: it depends on the queue and rules of The destination country's embassy or consulate, the document type, and the receiving office abroad. For that reason we do not publish a fixed figure. Plan a buffer before your real deadline and ask our staff by phone, LINE or email for the current queue before booking travel. This is general guidance; requirements and processing times change — verify with the competent authority before filing.

Status of the Apostille Convention for Thailand (verified 30 July 2026)

Thailand deposited its instrument of accession to the 1961 Hague Apostille Convention on 30 June 2026, and the Convention enters into force for Thailand on 28 February 2027. Until that date, Thai documents used abroad still require legalisation by the Department of Consular Affairs (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) followed by legalisation at the destination country's embassy.

Today (before 28 February 2027) Thai documents used abroad still follow the existing chain: certified translation → notarial attestation → legalisation by the Department of Consular Affairs (MFA) → legalisation at the destination country's embassy in Thailand.

Once the Convention enters into force for Thailand on 28 February 2027, Thai public documents sent to any of the 130 Contracting Parties will require only a single Apostille from the Department of Consular Affairs, with no further embassy legalisation.
