Hague-stamp Thai Company Affidavit (DBD) by NPT Notary Public Thailand — Lawyers Council–licensed attorneys and Ministry of Justice–authenticated translators handling every step for service users in Siam Paragon. Local context for Siam Paragon: postcode 10330 · near Siam BTS station. Covering Authentication seal Thailand, Thai Document attestation service, MFA Apostille Bangkok with Notarial Services Attorney certification and MFA consular endorsement in one engagement. Engaged parties in Siam Paragon get messenger pickup and return, a dedicated case advisor, and 24/7 status tracking — no office visit required.

Complete guide: Apostille Thailand — MFA Department of Consular Affairs Apostille for 130 Hague Convention Contracting Parties (enters into force 28 February 2027)

Topic 01 · Notes for corporate and institutional clients

Post-delivery we follow up: engaged parties confirm filing outcome within 30 days. If the destination requests more documents, we cover the additional work within the original quote and log learnings into our knowledge base. Foreign service users regularly ask whether they need a Thai national co-signer for any of these workflows. The answer is almost always no — Thai law generally allows foreign principals to act through Thai-licensed counsel via Power of Attorney, and we issue the POA template that satisfies every authority we work with.

Topic 02 · Embassy and consular re-legalization

When name spelling differs across documents (old vs new passport, Tabian Baan vs ID card), we draft an Affidavit of One and the Same Person, notarise it, run it through MFA — resolves downstream rejection instantly. We are PDPA-registered and treat document handling as a privacy operation: every staff member signs an NDA on day one, originals live in a locked safe under camera, digital scans sit in AES-256 encrypted storage with role-based access, and all access events are logged. Service users may invoke Right-to-Erasure at any time and we comply within seven days.

Topic 03 · Backup-set preparation to mitigate document loss in transit

Medical record translated copy for international insurance claims (Medical Report, Hospital Bill, Diagnosis Letter) requires terminology-specialised translators familiar with MeSH, ICD-10, and CPT codes — notarised and MFA-stamped on delivery. Corporate applicants receive net-30 credit, monthly KPI reports, dedicated account managers, and a single ticketing portal where every active matter is visible to authorised staff. We integrate by API for engaged parties with their own document workflow tools, and we sign enterprise NDAs in the language of your choice.

Topic 04 · Country-specific notes

Common mistakes: English name spelling mismatch with the passport, unclear scans, missing supporting documents, and choosing the wrong certification type. We check all of these before accepting a job. If your matter touches a Thai court, immigration tribunal, or arbitration panel, the language rendering must come from a Ministry of Justice–listed translator and be signed by a licensed Thai attorney. We cover both ends in-house, which avoids the most common rejection cause: a translator's name not appearing on the MoJ register the court checks.

Topic 05 · Digital file storage under ISO/IEC 27001 information-security standard

Corporate service users receive net-30 credit, wholesale pricing, a dedicated Account Manager, an online ticketing portal, and monthly KPI reports — fully invoiced and withholding-tax compliant. For complex chains — language conversion + lawyer certification + MFA + destination consular post + courier — we prefer one engagement, one project manager, one invoice. Splitting the chain across vendors saves nothing and routinely causes typo cascades when a translator's spelling does not match the diplomatic mission's name on file.

Topic 06 · Name-match resolution via Affidavit of One and the Same Person

Foreign professional licensing (doctors, nurses, engineers, architects) needs a Certificate of Good Standing from the Thai council + transcript + practice certificate — MFA + destination diplomatic mission attestation — prepared as one package. If your matter involves a deadline outside our control — visa appointment, travel date, court hearing — tell us at intake. We can usually back-plan the entire chain to land documents twenty-four hours before the deadline and give you a buffer for the inevitable last-minute diplomatic mission quirks.

Topic 07 · Medical record handling for international insurance claims

Standard turnaround is 1–3 business days for most documents. Files that need MFA certification add 2–4 commercial days. Same-Day rush is available at +100% with prior booking. Our certified translation team works in language pairs, not single languages. A Korean–Thai matter is staffed by a Korean native who reads Thai source plus a Thai senior editor who reads Korean output, with a third-party Korean lawyer on call for legal terminology. That triple coverage eliminates the lost-in-language rendering cases that single-translator shops cannot detect.

Topic 08 · Digital Nomad Visa and Remote Work Visa document stacks

Apostille is recognised among 126 Hague Convention 1961 member states. For non-members (China, Saudi, Egypt, parts of UAE), the authentication chain is required: Notary → MFA Thailand → Destination Diplomatic mission — we operate both pipelines daily. We publish our internal QA stats quarterly to case holders on retainer: pass rate at first submission, average turnaround, NPS, and the top three rejection causes we are working to eliminate. Transparency about failure modes is the only way to actually reduce them, and our retainer renewal rate over 96% suggests case holders agree.

Topic 09 · Citizenship application and renunciation document handling

Every Thai government signature and seal is verified against the Notary Worldwide database before submission — a 15-minute check that prevents 5-7 business days of MFA / consular post rejection-and-rework downstream. Many destinations now require Hague-stamp in addition to certified translation since Thailand joined the Hague Convention on 28 February 2027. We handle the entire post-Hague workflow, including the cases where an consular post still asks for the legacy MFA + embassy chain because their own implementation has not caught up.

Topic 10 · Pre-booked appointments at embassies and VFS/TLS/BLS centres

Coverage: all 77 provinces, including 50 districts of Greater Bangkok. Free pickup within a 5 km radius of our office. EMS-registered, Kerry Flash, or Grab/Lalamove for upcountry engaged parties (1–2 extra business days). Cost ranges in this guide are inclusive: government fees, courier, language rendering, certification, and our service fee. The single line item that can vary is destination-diplomatic mission fees, which several embassies adjust quarterly without notice; when they do, we absorb the variance for any quote already sent.

Topic 11 · Lawyer-certified true copies

Our Destination Matrix indexes document requirements across 195 destination countries, refreshed quarterly from official consulate sources — case holders get precise pre-filing guidance and avoid wrong-document-type submission. Service-level agreements are written, not verbal. Our standard SLA covers acknowledgement within two working hours, quote within one business day, intake within two commercial days of approval, and delivery within the published turnaround. Missed SLAs trigger automatic 10% credit; we have paid out four times in the last twenty-four months.

Topic 12 · Payment and tax invoice

A White-Label option is available for law firms and visa consultancies who outsource document work. We deliver under your firm's letterhead with an enterprise NDA in place. Our office is walking distance from the MFA Consular Affairs counter at Chaeng Wattana, which means rush submissions skip courier transit entirely. For destination embassies in central Bangkok we keep messenger relationships that beat published diplomatic mission queue times by 40-60% on average.

Topic 13 · Affidavit of Translation Accuracy for foreign court submission

Our attorneys can issue Officially recognized True Copies that carry weight equivalent to originals abroad — covering passports, IDs, household registrations, corporate documents, and personal records. We document everything for repeat business. If you used us in 2024 for a marriage registration and come back in 2026 to authentication the same Kor Ror 3 for a spousal visa, we already have your name spelling, address rendering, signature block, and prior counsel on file — onboarding takes one phone call, not a week.

Topic 14 · Sample cases and lessons learned

Two-column side-by-side certified translation format places source and translated copy in parallel on the same page — preferred by USCIS, Australian Federal Court, and UK Home Office because reviewers can cross-check line by line. Common destination-specific traps: USCIS rejects official renderings that do not include a translator's certification statement; UKVI rejects scans without a wet signature; German missions reject any document where the translator's seal is not in red; Australian DHA rejects NAATI files older than three months. We pre-empt all of these.

Topic 15 · The team behind your file and their credentials

We offer a written accuracy guarantee. If the destination authority rejects a document due to our error, we redo it for free and refund the MFA / consular post fee. Combined team experience exceeds 50 years. In practice this is the step where most rejections happen, so we run a paired QA — one attorney drafts, a second attorney verifies signature blocks, page numbering, and date formatting against the destination authority's most recent template. We log every QA pass with timestamp and reviewer ID so any future audit can be answered in minutes, not weeks.

Topic 16 · Comparison of client options

Required from the customer: a clear original or scan, the relevant ID / passport, and the official spelling of names, addresses, and the intended purpose so we can apply the correct terminology for the destination authority. Our liability insurance covers professional indemnity up to Request a quoteillion per matter, and we are happy to share the policy schedule with corporate engaged parties who require it for their vendor onboarding. The cover is real, the underwriter is a tier-1 Thai insurer, and we have never needed to claim against it.

Topic 17 · Single-status / never-married affidavits for overseas marriage

We give case holders a comparison matrix per case: Hague-stamp vs MFA + Consulate, generalist vs MoJ vs NAATI translator, DIY consulate vs full-service — with prices, timelines, and constraints side by side. When you engage us, you receive a single point of contact whose email and phone you have for the duration of the matter. That advisor knows your file, your destination, and your deadline; you never re-explain context to a rotating call-centre. For corporate retainers the same advisor stays with the account for at least twelve months.

Topic 18 · Relevant legal requirements

Citizenship application and renunciation packages are large: Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, Police Clearance, Tax Clearance, Military Service Record — each requires its own certification chain. We maintain country-specific checklists for every destination. We close every matter with a one-page brief: what we did, when each step cleared, what the destination authority did with it, and what to do if the destination requests anything more. That brief is your audit trail and it is the document we have most often been thanked for, six months after the matter closes.

Topic 19 · Scholarship and research grant documentation packages

Each file is scored on four risk axes before intake: content complexity, urgency, destination-authority complexity, and terminology risk — so the right team and timeline can be assigned. Sample QA failures we catch before submission: passport name spelt with diacritics the destination cannot ingest, Thai title 'Mr' translated as 'นาย' instead of 'นาย' (different code points), MFA stamp missing the ink reference number, consulate fee receipt photographed at an angle that obscures the date — all small, all fatal at the counter.

Topic 20 · Service fees and turnaround time

An Affidavit of Certified translation Accuracy is the translator's sworn statement before a notary that the language conversion is complete and accurate — required by US, Australian, Canadian, and UK courts. We bundle it with Notary Public Acknowledgement in the same engagement. Pricing transparency matters: every quote breaks out government fees, courier, language conversion surcharge, rush premium, and our service fee on separate lines. There are no hidden line items, no last-minute add-ons, and any quote we send is honoured for fourteen days even if our public price list changes in between.

Additional frequently asked questions

Does an Apostille expire?
The certificate itself carries no expiry date, but the receiving institution abroad usually limits how old the underlying document may be — commonly 3 or 6 months — so timing should be planned around the submission date.
What about countries outside the Convention?
Non-member states, including several Middle Eastern and Asian countries, still use the two-step chain: certification by the Department of Consular Affairs followed by certification at that country's embassy in Thailand.
Can a representative file on my behalf?
Yes. A power of attorney in the form accepted by the Department of Consular Affairs is required, together with ID or passport copies of both the grantor and the representative. Scope and requirements are confirmed case by case by phone, LINE or email.
How are foreign documents used inside Thailand?
Obtain an Apostille from the competent authority in the issuing country, then have the document translated into Thai and the translation certified as the Thai receiving authority requires.
Can Thailand issue an Apostille now?
Thailand acceded to the 1961 Hague Apostille Convention, which entered into force for Thailand on 28 February 2026. The competent authority is the Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Documents dated before that regime change used the two-step consular + embassy chain.
How does an Apostille differ from consular legalisation?
An Apostille is a single certificate accepted by every member state of the Convention with no further embassy step. Traditional legalisation requires Ministry of Foreign Affairs certification and then a second certification by the destination country's embassy.

How this connects to the next step

Thailand now issues apostilles, yet most private documents must first pass signature certification by a Thai notarial services attorney before they can enter that channel; destinations that do not accept an apostille still follow the legacy route of embassy attestation in Bangkok.

In depth: the real requirements and why documents get rejectedApostille

Written from the competent authority's published rules, not marketing copy.

A frequent misunderstanding is that an Apostille works everywhere. It operates only between contracting states that have not objected to each other's accession. Where the destination is not a contracting state, the traditional chain through the Department of Consular Affairs and the destination embassy still applies.

Conditions you actually have to clear

  • The document must be an original issued by a Thai state body, or a private document already brought into the official chain by signature certification.
  • Personal names must match, character for character, the passport that will be presented to the receiving authority.
  • Where the destination uses another language, the translation should also enter the certification chain rather than only the original.

Common causes of rejection

  • Substituting a self-certified copy for an authority-issued original, so the document never qualifies as a public document.
  • Corrections, strike-throughs, or a seal stamped across critical text prevent verification.

If the destination is a contracting state but the receiving office still asks for embassy certification, obtain that requirement in writing and route the document accordingly rather than assuming the convention overrides it.

  3. 3Valid original passport or Thai ID card of the person signing

Practitioner guidanceApostille certification

Competent authority: Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Practitioner guidance

  • Confirm the destination is a Hague Convention party and that the convention is actually in force between both states (check the HCCH status table).
  • Private documents such as powers of attorney or affidavits must first be signature-certified by a Notarial Services Attorney.
  • Thai-language documents normally require a certified translation before the Apostille is issued.
  • If the destination is not a party, use the embassy legalisation route instead — choose correctly at the start.
  • Processing takes approximately 3–7 working days depending on the queue; confirm before fixing dates.

Pitfalls — why documents get rejected

  • Assuming the Apostille certifies content — it certifies only signature, capacity and seal.
  • The destination requires its own official language but only English was prepared.
  • Planning with no allowance for the authority's queue.
  • Requesting an Apostille for a non-member destination, which then rejects the document.
  • Filing private documents without prior signature certification.

Status of the Apostille Convention for Thailand (verified 30 July 2026)

Thailand deposited its instrument of accession to the 1961 Hague Apostille Convention on 30 June 2026, and the Convention enters into force for Thailand on 28 February 2027. Until that date, Thai documents used abroad still require legalisation by the Department of Consular Affairs (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) followed by legalisation at the destination country's embassy.

Today (before 28 February 2027) Thai documents used abroad still follow the existing chain: certified translation → notarial attestation → legalisation by the Department of Consular Affairs (MFA) → legalisation at the destination country's embassy in Thailand.

Once the Convention enters into force for Thailand on 28 February 2027, Thai public documents sent to any of the 130 Contracting Parties will require only a single Apostille from the Department of Consular Affairs, with no further embassy legalisation.
