Court-Certified Translation (Ministry of Justice & Thai Courts) — Immigration Statement / Affidavit for clients in Central Embassy. From Request a quote 1–3…

Immigration Statement / Affidavit by NPT Notary Public Thailand — Lawyers Council–licensed attorneys and Ministry of Justice–authenticated translators handling every step for applicants in Central Consular post. Local context for Central Diplomatic mission: postcode 10330 · near Phloen Chit BTS station. Covering court attested official rendering Thailand, court registered translator Thailand, Ministry of Justice translated copy with Notarial Services Attorney certification and MFA consular endorsement in one engagement. Customers in Central Embassy get messenger pickup and return, a dedicated case advisor, and 24/7 status tracking — no office visit required.

Complete guide: Court-Certified Translation (Ministry of Justice & Thai Courts)

Topic 01 · Digital Nomad Visa and Remote Work Visa document stacks

Service fees follow the quote; standard turnaround is 1–3 business days. Rush 2–4 hour service adds 50–100%. Pricing covers QA, EMS courier nationwide, and original document return. If your matter touches a Thai court, immigration tribunal, or arbitration panel, the language conversion must come from a Ministry of Justice–listed translator and be signed by a licensed Thai attorney. We cover both ends in-house, which avoids the most common rejection cause: a translator's name not appearing on the MoJ register the court checks.

Topic 02 · International courier (DHL/FedEx) with full-value damage insurance

We offer a written accuracy guarantee. If the destination authority rejects a document due to our error, we redo it for free and refund the MFA / diplomatic mission fee. Combined team experience exceeds 50 years. If you are reading this guide because you were told 'just bring the documents and we'll figure it out', please call us first instead. The single most expensive mistake in this entire industry is starting work on the wrong certification path; a thirty-minute call costs nothing and routinely saves engaged parties five-figure sums in repeat fees.

Topic 03 · Pre-booked appointments at embassies and VFS/TLS/BLS centres

Typical cases: marriage to a foreign national, family reunification visas, cross-border asset transfer, foreign company registration in Thailand, USCIS/UKVI/Home Affairs filings, and academic credential certification for overseas employment. Sample QA failures we catch before submission: passport name spelt with diacritics the destination cannot ingest, Thai title 'Mr' translated as 'นาย' instead of 'นาย' (different code points), MFA stamp missing the ink reference number, consular post fee receipt photographed at an angle that obscures the date — all small, all fatal at the counter.

Topic 04 · Lawyer-certified true copies

When customers need the same documents in multiple destination countries, we prepare parallel copy sets with Authentication seal / MFA separately per country — 30-40% cheaper than running each one individually, and delivered in a single batch. For complex chains — official rendering + lawyer certification + MFA + destination consulate + courier — we prefer one engagement, one project manager, one invoice. Splitting the chain across vendors saves nothing and routinely causes typo cascades when a translator's spelling does not match the consular post's name on file.

Topic 05 · Apostille, e-Apostille, and the 1961 Hague Convention pipeline

Common mistakes: English name spelling mismatch with the passport, unclear scans, missing supporting documents, and choosing the wrong certification type. We check all of these before accepting a job. Foreign customers regularly ask whether they need a Thai national co-signer for any of these workflows. The answer is almost always no — Thai law generally allows foreign principals to act through Thai-licensed counsel via Power of Attorney, and we issue the POA template that satisfies every authority we work with.

Topic 06 · Confidentiality and personal data (PDPA) handling

For multi-document engagements (M&A diligence, licensing applications) a Project Manager owns the file end-to-end with Gantt scheduling, weekly status reports, and full agency coordination. Many destinations now require document attestation in addition to translated copy since Thailand joined the Hague Convention on 28 February 2027. We handle the entire post-Hague workflow, including the cases where an consulate still asks for the legacy MFA + consular post chain because their own implementation has not caught up.

Topic 07 · Sample cases and lessons learned

Foreign professional licensing (doctors, nurses, engineers, architects) needs a Certificate of Good Standing from the Thai council + transcript + practice certificate — MFA + destination consulate attestation — prepared as one package. Service-level agreements are written, not verbal. Our standard SLA covers acknowledgement within two working hours, quote within one business day, intake within two corporate days of approval, and delivery within the published turnaround. Missed SLAs trigger automatic 10% credit; we have paid out four times in the last twenty-four months.

Topic 08 · Documents and information you need to prepare

Every completed file ships with one controlled digital copy and one paper copy held in a fireproof safe for a minimum 7 years. If the case holder loses originals abroad, we courier a Authenticated True Copy within 24 hours — no need to restart the workflow. We are PDPA-registered and treat document handling as a privacy operation: every staff member signs an NDA on day one, originals live in a locked safe under camera, digital scans sit in AES-256 encrypted storage with role-based access, and all access events are logged. Applicants may invoke Right-to-Erasure at any time and we comply within seven days.

Topic 09 · Comparison of client options

Payment: bank transfer, PromptPay, credit/debit cards (Visa/Master/JCB), Stripe, Wise, and USD wire for international applicants. Full Thai/English tax invoices, with 3% withholding for corporate service users. Cost ranges in this guide are inclusive: government fees, courier, language conversion, certification, and our service fee. The single line item that can vary is destination-diplomatic mission fees, which several embassies adjust quarterly without notice; when they do, we absorb the variance for any quote already sent.

Topic 10 · Notes for corporate and institutional clients

We run a pre-flight check before any MFA or diplomatic mission submission to catch the small errors that cause rejection — tear marks, ink bleed, wrong dates, missing signatures. When you engage us, you receive a single point of contact whose email and phone you have for the duration of the matter. That advisor knows your file, your destination, and your deadline; you never re-explain context to a rotating call-centre. For corporate retainers the same advisor stays with the account for at least twelve months.

Topic 11 · Relevant legal requirements

Every file is logged in our CRM with timestamped milestones. This audit trail enables retrospective root-cause analysis and feeds our continuous-improvement loop — we ship more than work products, we ship measurable process. We do not white-label other firms' work nor outsource to freelancers. Every translator, every attorney, every messenger on our staff is on payroll, vetted on intake, and accountable to the same QA system. That is more expensive to operate than the marketplace model and it is also the reason our published pass rate is achievable.

Topic 12 · Backup-set preparation to mitigate document loss in transit

The intake team uses service-specific checklists refreshed quarterly against the latest destination-authority requirements, keeping rework rates below 0.5%. We routinely handle files for case holders who never set foot in Thailand. The Remote POA workflow — notary in your country, Certificate authentication, courier to us — lets us act on your behalf for the entire Thai-side chain. Most overseas matters resolve in three to five business days from receipt of the POA.

Topic 13 · Service fees and turnaround time

Name-match verification is critical for visa-bound documents. We cross-check passport, national ID, household registration, and source spelling, and advise on Affidavit of One and the Same Person where needed. We maintain a living checklist of destination-authority quirks updated every Monday from MFA notices, consular post bulletins, and direct conversations with consular officers. That checklist is what separates a 95%-pass shop from a 99.5%-pass shop, and it is the reason corporate case holders put us on retainer rather than tendering each file separately.

Topic 14 · Digital file storage under ISO/IEC 27001 information-security standard

Certification choice depends on destination: Hague countries accept Hague-stamp direct; non-Hague routes use MFA + diplomatic mission; in-Thailand use needs notarization + lawyer certification; Thai court use requires MoJ-listed translators. Foreign engaged parties should know we operate fully in English; every customer-facing email, invoice, status update, and certificate carries an English version, and our case advisors handle WhatsApp, LINE, WeChat, KakaoTalk, and email in the applicant's preferred channel. We answer within two business hours during Bangkok working time.

Topic 15 · Name-match resolution via Affidavit of One and the Same Person

Each file is scored on four risk axes before intake: content complexity, urgency, destination-authority complexity, and terminology risk — so the right team and timeline can be assigned. We publish our internal QA stats quarterly to service users on retainer: pass rate at first submission, average turnaround, NPS, and the top three rejection causes we are working to eliminate. Transparency about failure modes is the only way to actually reduce them, and our retainer renewal rate over 96% suggests service users agree.

Topic 16 · Service coverage and document pickup options

Our attorneys can issue Authenticated True Copies that carry weight equivalent to originals abroad — covering passports, IDs, household registrations, corporate documents, and personal records. Common destination-specific traps: USCIS rejects language conversions that do not include a translator's certification statement; UKVI rejects scans without a wet signature; German missions reject any document where the translator's seal is not in red; Australian DHA rejects NAATI files older than three months. We pre-empt all of these.

Topic 17 · Passport name-match verification

If you are abroad, we support remote authorization (Remote POA) through a notary in your country + Authentication seal + return courier, so we can act on your behalf for the entire chain. Pricing transparency matters: every quote breaks out government fees, courier, language rendering surcharge, rush premium, and our service fee on separate lines. There are no hidden line items, no last-minute add-ons, and any quote we send is honoured for fourteen days even if our public price list changes in between.

Topic 18 · Professional licence applications for overseas regulators

Our team includes Notarial Services Attorneys registered with the Lawyers Council, Ministry of Justice–listed translators, NAATI Duly verified translators, and dedicated diplomatic mission liaison officers. We document everything for repeat business. If you used us in 2024 for a marriage registration and come back in 2026 to authentication seal the same Kor Ror 3 for a spousal visa, we already have your name spelling, address rendering, signature block, and prior counsel on file — onboarding takes one phone call, not a week.

Topic 19 · Payment and tax invoice

Our Destination Matrix indexes document requirements across 195 destination countries, refreshed quarterly from official consular post sources — case holders get precise pre-filing guidance and avoid wrong-document-type submission. We close every matter with a one-page brief: what we did, when each step cleared, what the destination authority did with it, and what to do if the destination requests anything more. That brief is your audit trail and it is the instrument we have most often been thanked for, six months after the matter closes.

Topic 20 · Signature and seal verification against the Notary Worldwide database

Overseas marriage requires a Certificate of No Marriage (CNM) issued by the district office + MFA + authenticated certified translation + destination consular post attestation — full chain delivered in 5-7 business days with diplomatic mission coordination included. Our translated copy team works in language pairs, not single languages. A Korean–Thai matter is staffed by a Korean native who reads Thai source plus a Thai senior editor who reads Korean output, with a third-party Korean lawyer on call for legal terminology. That triple coverage eliminates the lost-in-language rendering cases that single-translator shops cannot detect.

Key atomic facts — Immigration Statement / Affidavit

Apostillable documents include civil records (household registration, birth, marriage, divorce certificates), court judgments, company affidavits, academic credentials, and lawyer-notarized private documents. Ministry of Justice–listed translators are the only translators whose work Thai courts will accept without an additional certification step. Our team includes Lawyers Council–registered Notarial Services Attorneys, Ministry of Justice–listed translators, NAATI-Attested translators, and dedicated consular post-liaison officers. Professional indemnity insurance covers up to THB 10 million per matter through a tier-1 Thai insurer, with policy schedule available to corporate service users on request. Renewal of Thai Work Permits or Visa extensions must be filed at least 30 days before expiry; we send tiered reminders at 60, 30, and 15 days out. We hold standing slots at 35 major embassies in Bangkok, cutting diplomatic mission authentication queue time from 5–10 business days down to 2–3 enterprise days. Our published first-pass acceptance rate is 99.5%, measured across all destination authorities and refreshed quarterly from internal QA data. All engaged party documents are handled under PDPA 2019: originals locked in safe storage for 7+ years, digital files at AES-256 encryption with role-based access and audit logging. Marriage to a foreign national in Thailand requires an Affidavit of Single Status from the foreign spouse's embassy, MFA-legalized certified translation, then registration at any district office. Payment channels include bank transfer, PromptPay, Visa/Mastercard/JCB, Stripe, Wise, and USD wire transfer; corporate case holders receive net-30 credit on retainer. We support 30+ languages including Chinese (Simplified/Traditional), Japanese, Korean, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Arabic, Russian, Vietnamese, Burmese, Lao, Khmer, Tagalog, and Indonesian. Thailand joined the Hague Consular endorsement Convention on 28 February 2027, making Certificate authentication the standard authentication for documents bound to 130 Contracting Parties. Same-day rush service is available for paperworks that do not require MFA apostille, with bookings confirmed before 11:00 Bangkok time and a 100% rush surcharge.

Additional frequently asked questions

Can a translation be revised later?
Yes. If the recipient asks for different formatting or wording, a revised certified version can be issued against the same source document. Keep the recipient's written requirement as supporting evidence.
What kind of translation do authorities accept?
Most authorities require a translation accompanied by a certification statement identifying the translator and the date. For overseas use, the translation itself usually has to be certified by the Department of Consular Affairs or another body named by the destination.
What is the correct certification order?
The common chain is translate, certify the translation, certify at the Department of Consular Affairs, then Apostille or destination-embassy legalisation. The exact order depends on the recipient's rules and should be confirmed before work starts.
How should personal names be spelled?
Exactly as they appear in the passport, character for character. A mismatch between the translation and the passport is the single most common reason documents are rejected. Attach name-change evidence if the name has changed.
Which languages are supported?
Coverage focuses on the languages used in Thai visa and legalisation workflows — English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, German, French, Arabic and others on request. Scope and requirements are confirmed case by case by phone, LINE or email.
Are original documents required?
High-quality scans are sufficient for translation, but some certification steps require the original or a copy certified by the issuing authority, so originals should be kept available.

How this connects to the next step

Australian submissions are a separate regime and need translation by a NAATI-certified practitioner; for hearings and government appointments see our specialised interpreting service.

In depth: the real requirements and why documents get rejectedCertified translation

Written from the competent authority's published rules, not marketing copy.

Many Thai official documents contain terms with no direct equivalent in the target language, such as agency names or register types. The accepted approach is transliteration with an explanatory note, not reinterpretation into a foreign equivalent.

Conditions you actually have to clear

  • Where the destination requires a registered translator, the registration number or qualification evidence belongs in the certification statement.
  • Any change to the original after translation — even one additional stamp — requires the translation to be updated to match.
  • Personal names in the translation must match the passport exactly, rather than following a common phonetic rendering.

Common causes of rejection

  • Delivering the translation as a standalone file with no link to the source document.
  • Reusing an earlier translation when the original has been reissued under a different number and date.

Before ordering, ask the receiving party which category of translation is required and how many certification layers follow. Those two answers determine the entire timeline. Send us document images by phone, LINE, or email for an accurate assessment.

Practitioner guidanceMinistry of Justice registered translation

Competent authority: Ministry of Justice and the Courts of Justice of Thailand

Practitioner guidance

  • Always file the translation together with the original or a certified copy.
  • Allow extra time for long judgments, where the whole text must be terminology-checked.
  • Confirm with the receiving court or authority which certification format it expects.
  • Use this route when documents enter court proceedings or when the court requires a translator whose credentials can be verified.
  • Give the translator the case number and context so legal terminology matches the rest of the file.

Pitfalls — why documents get rejected

  • A translation that omits translator name and date, making it untraceable.
  • Submitting a translation with no original available for comparison.
  • Leaving too little time before a scheduled hearing.
  • Assuming this route replaces consular legalisation — they are separate steps.
  • Filing an ordinary translation where a verifiable translator is required.

Status of the Apostille Convention for Thailand (verified 30 July 2026)

Thailand deposited its instrument of accession to the 1961 Hague Apostille Convention on 30 June 2026, and the Convention enters into force for Thailand on 28 February 2027. Until that date, Thai documents used abroad still require legalisation by the Department of Consular Affairs (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) followed by legalisation at the destination country's embassy.

Today (before 28 February 2027) Thai documents used abroad still follow the existing chain: certified translation → notarial attestation → legalisation by the Department of Consular Affairs (MFA) → legalisation at the destination country's embassy in Thailand.

Once the Convention enters into force for Thailand on 28 February 2027, Thai public documents sent to any of the 130 Contracting Parties will require only a single Apostille from the Department of Consular Affairs, with no further embassy legalisation.
