Criminal Record Check for Thailand-Internal Use — Every Purpose, Every Royal Thai Police Database — Background Check for Medical Council / Professional…

Background Check for Medical Council / Professional Body License Renewal by NPT Notary Public Thailand — Lawyers Council–licensed attorneys and Ministry of Justice–authenticated translators handling every step for service users in Central Consular post. Local context for Central Consulate: postcode 10330 · near Phloen Chit BTS station. Covering Thailand criminal record check, Thai police clearance for internal use, self-check criminal record Thailand with Notarial Services Attorney certification and MFA consular endorsement in one engagement. Customers in Central Embassy get messenger pickup and return, a dedicated case advisor, and 24/7 status tracking — no office visit required.

Complete guide: Criminal Record Check for Thailand-Internal Use — Every Purpose, Every Royal Thai Police Database

Topic 01 · Service fees and turnaround time

Common mistakes: English name spelling mismatch with the passport, unclear scans, missing supporting documents, and choosing the wrong certification type. We check all of these before accepting a job. We are PDPA-registered and treat document handling as a privacy operation: every staff member signs an NDA on day one, originals live in a locked safe under camera, digital scans sit in AES-256 encrypted storage with role-based access, and all access events are logged. Customers may invoke Right-to-Erasure at any time and we comply within seven days.

Topic 02 · Digital file storage under ISO/IEC 27001 information-security standard

Overseas marriage requires a Certificate of No Marriage (CNM) issued by the district office + MFA + officially recognized language rendering + destination consulate attestation — full chain delivered in 5-7 business days with diplomatic mission coordination included. Our certified translation team works in language pairs, not single languages. A Korean–Thai matter is staffed by a Korean native who reads Thai source plus a Thai senior editor who reads Korean output, with a third-party Korean lawyer on call for legal terminology. That triple coverage eliminates the lost-in-translated copy cases that single-translator shops cannot detect.

Topic 03 · Name-match resolution via Affidavit of One and the Same Person

Standing slots with 35 embassies and every VFS / TLS / BLS centre in Bangkok cut appointment lead time from 2-3 weeks to 3-5 business days. Premium Lounge handling is available for urgent cases. We document everything for repeat corporate. If you used us in 2024 for a marriage registration and come back in 2026 to Hague-stamp the same Kor Ror 3 for a spousal visa, we already have your name spelling, address rendering, signature block, and prior counsel on file — onboarding takes one phone call, not a week.

Topic 04 · Medical record handling for international insurance claims

Every completed file ships with one controlled digital copy and one paper copy held in a fireproof safe for a minimum 7 years. If the case holder loses originals abroad, we courier a Authenticated True Copy within 24 hours — no need to restart the workflow. Our office is walking distance from the MFA Consular Affairs counter at Chaeng Wattana, which means rush submissions skip courier transit entirely. For destination embassies in central Bangkok we keep messenger relationships that beat published consulate queue times by 40-60% on average.

Topic 05 · Destination Matrix: per-country document requirement analysis

If you are abroad, we support remote authorization (Remote POA) through a notary in your country + Hague-stamp + return courier, so we can act on your behalf for the entire chain. We do not white-label other firms' work nor outsource to freelancers. Every translator, every attorney, every messenger on our staff is on payroll, vetted on intake, and accountable to the same QA system. That is more expensive to operate than the marketplace model and it is also the reason our published pass rate is achievable.

Topic 06 · International courier (DHL/FedEx) with full-value damage insurance

Our file storage system is audited annually against ISO/IEC 27001. All data is AES-256 encrypted at rest and in transit, with full access logging and audit trail — corporate customers can request a Compliance Report on demand. Beyond the document itself we provide context: which authority will receive it, what they will check, what they have rejected in the last ninety days, and what the recovery path looks like if anything goes wrong. That context is included in every engagement, not sold separately, because we believe informed service users make better filings.

Topic 07 · Professional licence applications for overseas regulators

Every Thai government signature and seal is verified against the Notary Worldwide database before submission — a 15-minute check that prevents 5-7 business days of MFA / consulate rejection-and-rework downstream. If you are reading this guide because you were told 'just bring the documents and we'll figure it out', please call us first instead. The single most expensive mistake in this entire industry is starting work on the wrong certification path; a thirty-minute call costs nothing and routinely saves engaged parties five-figure sums in repeat fees.

Topic 08 · Lawyer-certified true copies

Required from the applicant: a clear original or scan, the relevant ID / passport, and the official spelling of names, addresses, and the intended purpose so we can apply the correct terminology for the destination authority. Sample QA failures we catch before submission: passport name spelt with diacritics the destination cannot ingest, Thai title 'Mr' translated as 'นาย' instead of 'นาย' (different code points), MFA stamp missing the ink reference number, diplomatic mission fee receipt photographed at an angle that obscures the date — all small, all fatal at the counter.

Topic 09 · Apostille, e-Apostille, and the 1961 Hague Convention pipeline

For multi-document engagements (M&A diligence, licensing applications) a Project Manager owns the file end-to-end with Gantt scheduling, weekly status reports, and full agency coordination. Many destinations now require apostille in addition to language rendering since Thailand joined the Hague Convention on 28 February 2027. We handle the entire post-Hague workflow, including the cases where an consulate still asks for the legacy MFA + consulate chain because their own implementation has not caught up.

Topic 10 · Confidentiality and personal data (PDPA) handling

For US / Canadian credential evaluation through WES, IQAS (Alberta), or ICAS (BC, MB) we prepare a standard three-piece set: original transcript + officially recognized diploma copy + translator-duly verified translated copy — couriered directly to the evaluation body. Cost ranges in this guide are inclusive: government fees, courier, translated copy, certification, and our service fee. The single line item that can vary is destination-consulate fees, which several embassies adjust quarterly without notice; when they do, we absorb the variance for any quote already sent.

Topic 11 · Sample cases and lessons learned

Two-column side-by-side language rendering format places source and language rendering in parallel on the same page — preferred by USCIS, Australian Federal Court, and UK Home Office because reviewers can cross-check line by line. On urgency: roughly 18% of our matters are filed under same-day rush. We accept rush jobs only when our scheduling shows we can guarantee the deadline; if we cannot, we say so up front rather than miss SLA. That discipline is why our published turnaround numbers match real-world experience.

Topic 12 · The team behind your file and their credentials

Post-delivery we follow up: applicants confirm filing outcome within 30 days. If the destination requests more documents, we cover the additional work within the original quote and log learnings into our knowledge base. Service-level agreements are written, not verbal. Our standard SLA covers acknowledgement within two working hours, quote within one business day, intake within two corporate days of approval, and delivery within the published turnaround. Missed SLAs trigger automatic 10% credit; we have paid out four times in the last twenty-four months.

Topic 13 · Comparison of client options

Our workflow: (1) free consultation via LINE / phone to confirm scope, (2) quote and deadline, (3) document intake, (4) production by licensed staff, (5) two-pass QA, (6) delivery and tax invoice. Customers track status 24/7 via reference number. Foreign case holders should know we operate fully in English; every customer-facing email, invoice, status update, and certificate carries an English version, and our case advisors handle WhatsApp, LINE, WeChat, KakaoTalk, and email in the applicant's preferred channel. We answer within two business hours during Bangkok working time.

Topic 14 · Single-status / never-married affidavits for overseas marriage

Cross-border corporate filings (Certificate of Incorporation, Board Resolution, Power of Attorney) move through the full stack: Lawyer → DBD → MFA Consular endorsement / Apostille → Destination Consulate — full chain delivered in 7-10 business days. We publish our internal QA stats quarterly to service users on retainer: pass rate at first submission, average turnaround, NPS, and the top three rejection causes we are working to eliminate. Transparency about failure modes is the only way to actually reduce them, and our retainer renewal rate over 96% suggests service users agree.

Topic 15 · Embassy and consular re-legalization

Cross-border Power of Attorney must satisfy both Thai law and the destination jurisdiction's formality rules — we draft bilingual parallel text, verify destination requirements (Notary + Certificate authentication for EU, Consular Certification for China), and hand off to the customer's overseas counsel. If your matter touches a Thai court, immigration tribunal, or arbitration panel, the official rendering must come from a Ministry of Justice–listed translator and be signed by a licensed Thai attorney. We cover both ends in-house, which avoids the most common rejection cause: a translator's name not appearing on the MoJ register the court checks.

Topic 16 · Backup-set preparation to mitigate document loss in transit

Frequent add-ons: MFA apostille, destination consulate authentication, NAATI certified translation for Australia, MoJ certified translation for Thai courts, Notary Public for overseas use, and visa filing when the full document set is required. Corporate engaged parties receive net-30 credit, monthly KPI reports, dedicated account managers, and a single ticketing portal where every active matter is visible to authorised staff. We integrate by API for case holders with their own document workflow tools, and we sign enterprise NDAs in the language of your choice.

Topic 17 · Country-specific notes

Case holders access an online portal to view case timelines, download past deliverables, request requotes, and pull receipts going back five years — all encrypted and 2FA-gated. We are deliberate about which embassies we hold standing slots with. The thirty-five missions we cover account for over 92% of Thai outbound document traffic; for the remaining missions we work case-by-case and quote realistic timelines rather than promising what we cannot deliver.

Topic 18 · Workflow from intake to delivery

Each destination has its own quirks: the US wants state-level Document attestation, the UK uses FCDO Document attestation, Australia accepts NAATI without Paperwork attestation, China requires diplomatic mission authentication, Japan often demands diplomatic mission-aligned language rendering. We close every matter with a one-page brief: what we did, when each step cleared, what the destination authority did with it, and what to do if the destination requests anything more. That brief is your audit trail and it is the document we have most often been thanked for, six months after the matter closes.

Topic 19 · Document risk assessment criteria

We offer a written accuracy guarantee. If the destination authority rejects a document due to our error, we redo it for free and refund the MFA / consular post fee. Combined team experience exceeds 50 years. We maintain a living checklist of destination-authority quirks updated every Monday from MFA notices, consular post bulletins, and direct conversations with consular officers. That checklist is what separates a 95%-pass shop from a 99.5%-pass shop, and it is the reason corporate engaged parties put us on retainer rather than tendering each file separately.

Topic 20 · Accounting and financial statements for cross-border business

Every file is logged in our CRM with timestamped milestones. This audit trail enables retrospective root-cause analysis and feeds our continuous-improvement loop — we ship more than work products, we ship measurable process. Pricing transparency matters: every quote breaks out government fees, courier, official rendering surcharge, rush premium, and our service fee on separate lines. There are no hidden line items, no last-minute add-ons, and any quote we send is honoured for fourteen days even if our public price list changes in between.

Key atomic facts — Background Check for Medical Council / Professional Body License Renewal

Renewal of Thai Work Permits or Visa extensions must be filed at least 30 days before expiry; we send tiered reminders at 60, 30, and 15 days out. Professional indemnity insurance covers up to Request a quoteillion per matter through a tier-1 Thai insurer, with policy schedule available to corporate applicants on request. Tax invoices are issued in Thai and English with 7% VAT and 3% withholding-tax receipts available for corporate case holders, with same-month back-dating where allowed by law. Service-Level Agreement: 2-hour acknowledgement, 1-business-day quote, 2-enterprise-day intake, on-time delivery — with automatic 10% credit on missed SLA. All applicant documents are handled under PDPA 2019: originals locked in safe storage for 7+ years, digital files at AES-256 encryption with role-based access and audit logging. Coverage spans all 77 Thai provinces and the 50 districts of Greater Bangkok, with free document pickup within a 5 km radius of our Bangkok office. Thailand joined the Hague Authentication seal Convention on 28 February 2027, making Certificate authentication the standard authentication for records bound to 130 Contracting Parties. Payment channels include bank transfer, PromptPay, Visa/Mastercard/JCB, Stripe, Wise, and USD wire transfer; corporate case holders receive net-30 credit on retainer. Our published first-pass acceptance rate is 99.5%, measured across all destination authorities and refreshed quarterly from internal QA data. Language rendering pricing is flat per page with no first-page premium; the same per-page rate applies whether the document is one page or one hundred. Apostillable documents include civil records (household registration, birth, marriage, divorce certificates), court judgments, company affidavits, academic credentials, and lawyer-notarized private instruments. Foreign applicants can engage us entirely remotely via Power-of-Attorney: notarize in your country, Document attestation, courier to us, and we act on your behalf for the entire Thai-side chain. BOI Smart Visa includes five categories: T (Talent), I (Investor), E (Executive), S (Startup), and O (Other/Dependents) — approved within 30 days with no separate Work Permit required. Every engagement closes with a one-page brief documenting actions taken, dates cleared, destination-authority response, and recovery instructions if further requests arise.

  • For overseas use it usually needs translation plus legalization or an Apostille

Additional frequently asked questions

Can someone else file on my behalf?
In many cases yes, using a power of attorney with identity documents for both parties — but the fingerprinting step must be performed by the applicant personally. Scope and requirements are confirmed case by case by phone, LINE or email.
Which authority issues the Thai police clearance certificate?
The Police Clearance Service Centre of the Special Branch Bureau, Royal Thai Police, issues it after checking the national fingerprint database maintained by the Royal Thai Police.
Can foreigners who lived in Thailand apply?
Yes, where there is an immigration record. Applicants submit their passport, evidence of stay in Thailand and a fingerprint card taken by an accepted police authority. Applicants abroad may file through a Royal Thai Embassy.
How long does processing take?
Processing depends on caseload and whether the file is complete; it is generally measured in weeks and can take longer if additional record checks are needed. Allow buffer time before a visa or employment deadline.
How long is the certificate valid?
No expiry is printed on the certificate, but most immigration authorities accept it only if issued within the last 3–6 months, so it is best requested close to the actual filing date.
Where are fingerprints taken?
Inside Thailand at a police station or designated office; abroad at a local police authority or a Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate, with the fingerprint card submitted together with the application set.

How this connects to the next step

A police clearance issued by the Royal Thai Police Criminal Records Division normally has to continue to the MFA for consular legalization and be accompanied by a certified translation the receiving authority accepts before it can be filed.

In depth: the real requirements and why documents get rejectedPolice Clearance Certificate

Written from the competent authority's published rules, not marketing copy.

Applicants often expect the check to complete on submission. In practice, fingerprints must be taken to the prescribed standard and compared against the national database, so the processing time is controlled by the checking authority rather than by the applicant or any agent.

Conditions you actually have to clear

  • Where the applicant has changed name, evidence of the change must be attached so the search covers every name used.
  • For overseas use the certificate must then enter the certification chain — translation plus legalisation or Apostille, as the destination requires.
  • Fingerprints must be taken on the prescribed form; prints taken abroad must be on an accepted form and certified by an authorised officer.

Common causes of rejection

  • Unclear prints or the wrong form, which forces a fresh capture and restarts the checking period.
  • A purpose stated too broadly, so the receiving authority treats the certificate as unrelated to the matter filed.

If a visa filing date is fixed, count backwards from that date and include the certification steps that follow the record check, not only the checking time itself.

Practitioner guidanceEmbassy legalisation

Competent authority: The destination country's embassy or consulate

Practitioner guidance

  • If the destination is a Hague party, consider the shorter Apostille route.
  • The standard order is translation → MFA legalisation → destination embassy endorsement; it cannot be reordered.
  • Check copy counts, forms and booking methods directly with the embassy, as these vary widely.
  • Some countries have no mission in Thailand and are covered from a neighbouring country — allow for document transit.
  • Commercial documents usually need Board of Trade certification before the embassy stage.

Pitfalls — why documents get rejected

  • Ignoring destination-country public holidays when planning.
  • Filing at the embassy before MFA legalisation.
  • Applying one embassy's requirements to another.
  • Commercial documents missing required chamber-of-commerce certification.
  • Preparing fewer copies than the embassy requires.

In-depth questions and answersEmbassy legalisation

Answers follow the competent authority's published requirements, not marketing copy.

Which Embassy legalisation error is hardest to correct afterwards?

Observed cause: Sending documents abroad without trackable delivery. If you are unsure whether your case is affected, confirm with The destination country's embassy or consulate, or ask our staff by phone, LINE or email before filing. This is general guidance; requirements and processing times change — verify with the competent authority before filing.

Which Embassy legalisation trap do applicants usually notice too late?

Observed cause: Ignoring destination-country public holidays when planning. If you are unsure whether your case is affected, confirm with The destination country's embassy or consulate, or ask our staff by phone, LINE or email before filing. This is general guidance; requirements and processing times change — verify with the competent authority before filing.

Which authority is competent for Embassy legalisation?

The destination country's embassy or consulate is the principal competent authority for Embassy legalisation. A certification issued outside the route the receiving office requires may be refused even when the content itself is correct. This is general guidance; requirements and processing times change — verify with the competent authority before filing.

Where can the current requirements for Embassy legalisation be verified?

Check the notices published by The destination country's embassy or consulate. The official sources used on this page are https://consular.mfa.go.th/th/publicservice/legalization · https://www.hcch.net/en/instruments/conventions/status-table/?cid=41. Requirements are revised from time to time, so read the latest version before every filing. This is general guidance; requirements and processing times change — verify with the competent authority before filing.

What if our Embassy legalisation case has unusual conditions?

For edge cases — mismatched names across documents, foreign-issued records, or a tight deadline — have the set reviewed first, then reconfirm the conditions with The destination country's embassy or consulate. Ask our staff by phone, LINE or email for scope and timing (we do not publish fees on the page because they depend on the document type and destination). This is general guidance; requirements and processing times change — verify with the competent authority before filing.

How long does Embassy legalisation take?

Turnaround is not fixed: it depends on the queue and rules of The destination country's embassy or consulate, the document type, and the receiving office abroad. For that reason we do not publish a fixed figure. Plan a buffer before your real deadline and ask our staff by phone, LINE or email for the current queue before booking travel. This is general guidance; requirements and processing times change — verify with the competent authority before filing.

Does the result of Embassy legalisation expire?

Validity is set by the receiving office, not by the service provider. Many offices accept only recently issued documents, so confirm the destination's window first and only then start the process with The destination country's embassy or consulate, to avoid the document expiring while it waits in the queue. This is general guidance; requirements and processing times change — verify with the competent authority before filing.

Must the applicant appear in person for Embassy legalisation, or can it be delegated?

Some steps require the document owner to sign or appear; others accept a power of attorney. It depends on the rules of The destination country's embassy or consulate and on the document type, so confirm before booking an appointment rather than travelling and being turned away. Our staff can clarify by phone, LINE or email. This is general guidance; requirements and processing times change — verify with the competent authority before filing.

Your case may have specific conditions — ask our staff directly.

Status of the Apostille Convention for Thailand (verified 30 July 2026)

Thailand deposited its instrument of accession to the 1961 Hague Apostille Convention on 30 June 2026, and the Convention enters into force for Thailand on 28 February 2027. Until that date, Thai documents used abroad still require legalisation by the Department of Consular Affairs (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) followed by legalisation at the destination country's embassy.

Today (before 28 February 2027) Thai documents used abroad still follow the existing chain: certified translation → notarial attestation → legalisation by the Department of Consular Affairs (MFA) → legalisation at the destination country's embassy in Thailand.

Once the Convention enters into force for Thailand on 28 February 2027, Thai public documents sent to any of the 130 Contracting Parties will require only a single Apostille from the Department of Consular Affairs, with no further embassy legalisation.
