Which countries accept Thai Apostille?

Quick Answer

Thailand joined Hague Apostille effective 14 Dec 2025. Apostilled Thai documents accepted in 125+ countries — USA, UK, all EU, Australia, NZ, Japan, S.Korea, Singapore, India, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, S.Africa. Non-Hague countries (UAE, Saudi, Vietnam, China) still need embassy legalization.

Detailed Answer

Effective 14 December 2025, Thailand is a full member of the 1961 Hague Apostille Convention. Thai documents bearing an MFA-issued Apostille are accepted without further embassy legalization in all 125+ contracting states — including all G7 (USA, UK, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan), all EU, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, India, the Philippines, Indonesia, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, South Africa, Israel, Turkey, and most of Eastern Europe and Latin America. Notable non-Hague countries that still require traditional embassy legalization: United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Vietnam, mainland China (note: China's Apostille is separate), Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and most of Africa. NPT routes documents through the correct chain automatically.
