Why double legalization is still required
Jordan is not a party to the 1961 Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents. As a result — and notwithstanding Thailand's accession on 15 January 2026 — Thai public documents bound for Jordan can only be authenticated via the traditional consular legalization route.
End-to-end chain: Original → Translation (TH/EN, target language as needed) → Thai MFA Department of Consular Affairs Legalization → สถานทูตจอร์แดน authentication → Delivery in Jordan. The MFA stamp certifies "the document is genuine inside Thailand"; the embassy stamp then certifies that Jordan authorities are willing to receive it.
